My GC 68 is very close to my timeless in comfort while shaving and post quality where it falls behind is the feedback through the handle and audio feedback and build quality so I might smile more when using the timeless as I can tell more whats going on when shaving but the end result is about the sameĪs far as build the timeless is a huge step above all of them as it should be price reflects that The straight is the most comfy for sure I might say get the 68 and 95 and use both wish I bought the 95 plate when I bought mine (also why I am buying them soon) buy both return or sell the plate you did not like or keep it around to try once in a while IMHO the later is the way to go if you can be Ok with a extra plateĪ few other razors I have Rex Ambassador and Yates and some razorocks and hensons and think the razorocks are some of the best bang for buck razors out there Had a Feather and returned it just was not as comfy but that was me others love themĭo have a titanium timeless and all 3 of the 68 plates and plan on buying the 95 plates Never tried a rockwell ? played with them a bunch at local razor store though not in the same build class as the Timeless but the price reflects that so its upside is the other plates included and price are very nice we would suggest a 0.95 O.C.I think what some might ask you would be do you love where your 34c is as far as feel or would you like a more aggressive razor or a more mellow one RECOMMENDATIONS: If you have sensitive skin and not a lot of hair, we would suggest the 0.68 mm blade gap Solid Bar base plate. The solid bar and scalloped base plate both give excellent audio feedback. The solid bar is VERY SMOOTH on the face and the Scalloped Base is somewhere in between the two. is probably the most aggressive but VERY efficient. The difference in the base plates is that the O.C. The 0.68 is a MILD blade gap that takes a couple more passes to get the job done, but has a VERY SMOOTH feel on the face. It is very efficient, but not overly aggressive. The 0.95 is a MEDIUM AGGRESSIVE blade gap. OPEN COMB: if you shave every 3-4 days or more and or have a lot of growth SCALLOPED: if you shave every 2-3 days and or have medium growth SOLID BAR: If you shave everyday and or have just a little growth 95 because it gets the job done quickly and efficiently. 68 needs more passes and strokes to get BBS which could lead to irritation. Those with sensitive skin tend to go for the mild. Our customers are about 50/50 as to which blade gap they prefer. Most customers end up purchasing all of the base plates over time anyway because they are curious as to how they differ. Some guys just buy the master kit (I know it is costly) but this gives you the chance to see and use all of the items and compare. The SB is meant for everyday with little hair, and the SCL is meant as an in between. What is the difference between the base plates and the blade gaps?ĪNSWER: There is little difference in feel with the plates of the same blade gap.
